Maternity contract commencing after half term. High achieving school rated by ofsted as ouststanding
English Teacher
South London
This is fantastic school in South london neither east nor west but central.
The school is an all girls roman catholic school where all the pupils get considerably more than just 5 decent GCSEs. The school has been education young ladies for nearly 200 years has a superb ofsted report and is looking for an english teacher initially just for this term. The school also feel they maybe able to offer work for the other 2 days depending on whether you have any other subject areas you can teach. The position is to teach predominantly KS3 kids but there will be 1 GCSE class you will be taking. This is a really established, and welcoming department to work in where you will be given the encouragement and freedom to teach.
SEN Teacher
East London
To be honest this position has come available due to the boroughs decision to follow an "inclusive" strategy to education for SEN pupils. In reality this means a number of pupils who previously were in Special schools have now been transferred over to mainstream schools in the borough. There is potentially both a part time and full time role available. You will be working with pupils who's needs span the spectrum - from autism, dyspraxia dyslexia to more pronounced needs. The role will be within the SEN dept (consisting at the moment of a SENCO and 7 teachers) with a focus on EAL and by default english. The pupils come from a variety of ethnicities and we are looking for bright engaging teachers with experience of EAL within a similar setting. The majority of the time will be spent on one to one work and at times with small groups of up to 3 children. This is a genuinely good department in a well structured and successful school with interviews taking place next week.Initially it will be with a view to a 1 term contract but there is a permanent position available which will be discussed at Christmas time.
PE - Oustanding School
Central London
This role has become available due to the present teacher having to head into hospital for an operation - they have been signed off until April so it may well become a two term engagement. The school is mixed with 1200 pupils inclusive of a sixth form so is not large by london standards. It is performing arts school (not a specialist sports college) however they are actually very strong on the sporting front as well - I guess the performing arts can play an important role whilst performing on the pitch.... In terms of academic results they post around 80% of the pupils getting 5 decent GCSE's with the vast majority getting 9 or more good grades - so it is an environment where they kids are engaged and enjoy their time and school and therefore where it is a place you will enjoy teaching in.
Maths Teacher
Kensington
This small prep school in Kensington urgently require a competent bright and engaging teacher of Maths to come on board for the autumn term. You will be teaching predominantly KS3 (12/13 y/o) in class sizes of no more than 18. If you are able to offer any other subject or assistance in coaching, rugby, netball, hockey or swimming that would be fantastic. Interview /trial day taking place early next week. This role is paying £150 a day.
ICT Teacher
West London
A good position teaching predominantly ICT to GCSE has come available at a pretty good school in West London. Unfortunately for the school the teacher whom they were expecting to return from down under has stayed I think the particularly warm winter this year may have swung it - the prospect of another english autumn and winter too much to contemplate... The school is actually a technology college so in terms of resources it is well equipped and they only have had one person depart from the dept this year and so it is pretty established environment with all the schemes of work etc in place. The school does pretty well grades wise with two thirds getting 5 decent gcse and the behaviour of the pupils is considerably more respectful than in the majority of schools in london... so it is a place where you will spend the vast majority of your time teaching.
We are looking to organise interviews for this Friday with a view to a 1 term contract if everyone is happy at the end of term it will be extended or made into a permanent appointment.
